The city hosts bullfighting events every Saturday from Spring to Fall. Basically, two bulls are placed in a ring and push each other until one of them gives up.

Jirinsan Medicinal Herbal Festival

Sancheong is where the renowned Oriental medicine doctor Yu Euitae and his fellow Heo Jun, who wrote Dongeubogam, served their medical treatment in the Joseon Dynasty. Thanks to the quality and efficacy of the medicinal herbs growing here around Jirisan, Sancheong is known as the home of the medicinal herbs. The festival provides tourists the opportunity to experience the wonderful efficacy of the medicinal herbs, to receive free Oriental medical diagnosis as well as to sample foods made from medicinal herbs.

Summer

Hansan-do Mud flat Festival

You can participate in various events during the festival, such as shellfish picking, mud flat treasure hunt, cycling and more. All tools for mud flat activity such as boots, hoe, bucket, and gloves can be purchased on site.

Hwang river Reports Festival

Hwang River Water Marathon Race that takes place around clear Hwang River, beautiful silvery sands and green forest around the river is the one and only marathon race in Korea that runs along a river. Every year, about 2,000 marathoners, who are members of marathon clubs or foreigners, enter the race and run along Hwang river, that is famously known for its clear blue water, to resist the summer heat.

Autumn

Gimhae buncheong ceramics Festival

Making one's own ceramic wares and selecting real ceramic wares for the last day event. And in the ceramic ware making event, tourists can make his own ceramic wares, put their own pictures or writings on the ware, and delivery service is available. During the festival, the traditional kiln is set in the festival venue to show tourists the progress of making ceramic wares. In the real ware selecting event, tourists take the ceramic ware for free, if they select a real one, and they break it at the spot. if they select a fake one, It presents a joy of festival. During the festival, ceramic ware goods sell at a factory price. Tourists kiln tour is available in the vicinity.

Winter

Bugok Hot Spring

This Hot Spring was named 'Bugok', meaning a big pot, as this area shapes like a big iron pot. This Hot spring was first found in 1973 with 6,000 tons of 78 hot water everyday, the Hot Spring is the biggest sulfur spring in Korea. The water had efficacy to cure breathe disease and skin disease as it contains 20 more inorganic matter such as silicon, chlorine, calcium and irons as well as sulfur. This place make a big Hot Spring Compound equipped with accommodations and convenient facilities. Among them Bugok Hawaii is facilitated with a big public bath, indoor and outdoor pools, botanical garden and zoo.

Oedo Botanic garden

The island is called 'The Paradise of Korea' with a scenic camellia fores and other rare subtropical plants such as cacti, coconut palms, sunshines, eucalyptus, agaves and 3,000 more kinds. The island is equipped with an observatory, a sculpture park, an outdoor music hall, a lounge on its 0.051km2 and 2.3km long coast. On the east end of the island are found the footprints of dinosaurs same as those found in the Stratum of the Cretaceous period, Mesozonic era. This proves that there lived many dinosaurs around this area at that time.

German Village in Geoje

It was built for Koreans who had gone to Germany in the 1960s seeking work and later Korean-Germans had returned. The architecture of the houses is German-style, and even the construction materials were imported from Germany. From here, one can enjoy both the mountains and the sea, as the village faces east toward the coast. The sunrise over Mulgeonhang Port lighthouse is definitely worth a visit.

Historic Park of Geoje, P.O.W. Camp is the remains of what used to be a prisoner-of-war camp for North Korean and Chinese POWs during the times of the North Korean invasion of South Korea (6.25).

Hwagae Street Market in Hadong
